Here are some screenshots, with comments, of the jsmallfib plugin for Joomla 1.5.x. They are meant to give an idea of what the plugin looks like. Bear in mind that display width, row heights and colours may be customised from the Joomla! backend, where other parameters are configurable as well, such as the name of the toplevel repository, whether this lies within or outside the Joomla! document root, and the default access rights for visiting and registered users.
The following picture shows what the command line may look like within an article (see the jsmallfib guide or the online help for a more detailed explanation of the possible arguments):
When the plugin is enabled, the above article will look something like, depending on the actual files and folders within the 'project' folder, and also on permissions: rename, delete links, the 'view log' link on the top right side of the list, the forms to create a new folder or upload a new file are only available to users with the relevant access right (see the jsmallfib guide or the online help for more details on permissions):
To edit the name of a file or folder, you can click on the rename icon (shown above), and the display will allow editing (depending, of course, on access rights) as seen below:
A subfolder is accessed by clicking on the relevant item, and the display will be changed to the one shown below:
If the user is granted the relevant access right (level 5), the 'view log' is displayed on the top right side of the list (as in all the screenshots above). Clicking this link will display the actions log, where, depending on the plugin backend settings, file uploads, downloads, new folder creations, files and folders renaming or removal may be logged. The following is a log screenshot:
Finally, the following picture is a screenshot of the plugin parameters accessible from the backend administration site:

jsmallfib is a Joomla! plugin that allows a normal article to include a simple but effective file manager. Depending on access levels, users can read or upload files, create folder trees, etc. The main repository can be set either within the Joomla! directory, or, for greater security, outside the web root. This plugin, which is native under Joomla! 1.5.x, is ideal if you require simple light-weight file browsing/uploading functionality (to store and share documentation, for example). Actions such as file uploads/downloads, and file/folder renaming, removing can optionally be logged.
